Who We Are

Welcome to the Central Florida Songwriters Guild

This is a social community meant to encourage and promote songwriting.  By providing a monthly song prompt and getting together to perform our songs.  This is not a professional songwriting class or a professionally run group, for that matter.  I don’t really know what I am doing, but I have some ideas and am looking forward to seeing where this melody takes us.  The idea came from a group I was in while living in Denton, Texas, that got me writing songs. 

We are starting with a simple idea.

• We meet monthly
• We perform our songs written from a prompt
• We have fun
• We select a new prompt
• Rinse and repeat

Everyone is welcome, from amateurs to professional performing musicians.  

We may have guest speakers if we can find any to discuss topics like songwriting, performing, recording, and the music business. However, I want to avoid anyone who has a sales pitch.

I plan on posting song prompts and meeting times/location here.I have some ideas for the future but want this to be a community and will need help and ideas in running this.  We are starting very loosely and informally, and seeing where we can go
